| Definition | A myopathy that is characterized by muscle breakdown (rhabdomyolysis), heat and exertion-related muscle pain (myalgia) and cramping symptoms, severe muscle pain, sudden elevation and subsequent fall of serum creatine phosphokinase levels and products of muscle breakdown in the urine (myoglobinuria). Associated with RYR1 variations.
